Here’s a quick and healthy recipe I found online for hummus. This is my first attempt and I’m interested in making different variations of hummus so I’ll be posting more as I make them.
1 Can Chickpeas drained and rinsed
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Garlic Cloves
3 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes in oil
2 tbsp parsley
2 tbsp of Lemon Juice
Puree all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth.
Last week I received these peppers in my box of organics. Not knowing what to do with them I just opted for an easy snack idea.
3 Jalapeño peppers
Cut top of pepper and cut lengthwise. Clean out inside removing all seeds. Make sure you wash your hands immediately after.
Fill each half with a teaspoon of cream cheese.
Wrap with turkey bacon and secure with a toothpick.
I’m not a fan of spicy foods and this was great. The cream cheese helps to tone it down some… Enjoy!
I’m not a fan of bacon, I’ve never really have been… I never order it when going out for breakfast and certainly don’t cook it at home. Well that all changed until I tried this, bacon wrapped dates!
By now you probably know what happens when I try new food. I just have to make it myself and see how it comes out. That’s exactly what I did and boy was it good. It was so good I won’t be making these for a while. Paleo people swear by bacon, I however, I’m a bit conservative eating saturated fat. These do make great and easy to make appetizers or snacks.
Here are my ingredients. You can also substitute the bacon for turkey bacon if you like.
Just wrap each date with a bacon strip and place on baking sheet. I used half a strip for each date. Make sure to press it down on baking sheet so it does not fall apart.
Bake at 300 for 20-25 minutes.
Done! Enjoy but not too often 😉
Here’s a quick and easy appetizer or snack recipe that turned out delicious.
Here were my ingredients:
Just start by cleaning out each mushroom so that there’s room for the stuffing.
In a bowl, I combined the crab meat with a little of Lemonaise, pepper, oregano, thyme and a few chopped roasted peppers.
Place mixture in each mushroom.
Bake on 350 for 25 minutes or until golden at the top.
